The Food Bank Run - Award WINNERS!

Food Bank Run WINS Best Charity Initiative

At The National Running Show 2024, the running world came together for the launch of the National Running Show Awards. This eagerly anticipated event recognised and celebrated the outstanding achievements and contributions in the running community.

The awards were designed to honour the runners, organisations, and innovations that have left an indelible mark on the sport.

Hosted by Anna Harding the National Running Show Awards were a spectacular celebration of the passion and dedication that make the running community so special. From elite athletes and inspirational coaches to grassroots heroes and innovative products, these awards shone a spotlight on the best of the best in the running world.

The Food Bank Run was nominated in the category Best Charity initiative Of The Year and we’re pleased to say that it won!

In a category that had some fierce competition, the Food Bank Run was voted by the running public as the best initiative and took home the trophy.

Founder of the original Food Bank Run, Sarah Donaghy, said:

‘We are totally over the moon at winning the award for Best charity initiative of the year at the National running show.

It represents the amazing working work of thousands of runners who stepped up to the challenge of supporting their local communities. Filling food banks at the toughest points of the year by putting on a backpack full of donations! I knew runners were amazing but what they are doing is incredible!

The running community helping the local community ❤️ ‘

Supported by running brand, Runr, the campaign has seen thousands of runners from all over the UK support their local food banks at a time when the support is needed more than ever.

The award is testament to the efforts of the running community and we hope this will inspire more runners to get involved and support their local food bank.
